Community Interaction Team (CIT)

The Community Interaction Team is comprised of a sergeant and four deputy sheriffs that use arrest, enforcement and contacts with other agencies to resolve community concerns in the city.  The team is used to pinpoint and resolve specific criminal and nuisance problems which are identified by a number of sources including: patrol, crime analysts, station detectives, desk personnel, tip lines, city officials, business owners and community members. The CIT team is responsible for quality of life issues and criminal matters such as squatters, neighbor disputes, abandoned cars, narcotics activity, gang activity and graffiti abatement/enforcement. They are also responsible for investigating alcohol related offenses and establishments. They frequently conduct sting operations, surveillance operations and search warrants with DB and COBRA.
